MAC Lipstick Review

I got this beautiful MAC lip color the other day and I thought I'd share a little review about it. One thing I love about it is it reminds me a lot of a Lime Crime color I used to have, "Countessa Fluorescent". Not only is the shade almost identical, but the scent is too! It smells just like cupcakes! I don't know who copied who, but I'm not mad!

"Candy Yum-Yum"

Price - $16
Color - Neon pink with a blue undertone - which makes teeth look whiter!
Finish - Matte finish, glides on smoothly.
Lasting effect - Long wearing, about 4-6 hours for me.
Likes - Bold pigment, smells like cupcakes.
Dislikes - Drying.. I have to put chapstick over it.

Would I recommend it to a friend? Absolutely! The pros definitely outweigh the cons. I think I found my new favorite lipstick.

What's your favorite MAC lip color?

Swimming Snapshots

Since it's been so hot out, we decided it was time to get our little man accustomed to colder water - not bath water. So, we got him a pool. I wouldn't say he looooved it at first. He was okay with dipping his feet in, but definitely not his booty. After a few minutes though, he started to get used to it and splashed around a little bit.

It's been so much fun watch Brooks grow and become more aware of his surroundings. He's starting to "talk" and interact with us a lot more, and his personality is really starting to show. For the most part, he's a chill baby, but he won't hesitate to let you know when he does and doesn't like something!

5 Haircolor Trends for Summer

I've had several clients coming in wanting a fresh, new color for summer but aren't quite sure what exactly to get. Who better to turn to for hair color guidance than their hairstylist, right? Of course! So I thought I'd share some of the colors and techniques I've been suggesting lately...

1. Balayage Highlights - This technique has been around for a long time but it's really popular right now. These highlights are free-hand painted on the hair. There's no "line of demarcation" as it grows out, so it's very low maintenance.

2. Unicorn Hair - From vibrant to pastel, who doesn't love fun fashion colors?! I am completely in love with this aqua blue color.

Sombre haircolor

3. Sombre - Like ombre, but on the subtle side. This is a soft, low-key way to lighten your hair. It works with pretty much any shade too!

4. Babylights - These are delicately painted on smaller pieces of hair and made to resemble the natural, sun-kissed highlights in a child's hair.

Pantone 2015 color of the year Marsala

5. Marsala - Pantone's 2015 color of the year is marsala which is such a pretty color for hair too!

Brooks Wilder: Four Months

baby 4 months development

Currently //

Length 25.75 inches
Weight 14 pounds

Sleeps through the night (sometimes).
Loves bath time and grabbing his feet.
Hates touching cold water and sitting still.
Learning to eat cereal and pureed foods.

cute baby stuff
baby milestones at 4 months
baby portrait ideas
Brooks has hit so many milestones this past month! He rolls over from his belly to his back. He's smiling a lot more, and has even started laughing a little bit! It's so cute, I can't stand it. Can't. Stand. It. Baby giggles are the best.

Little B got his second round of shots this morning. He took it much better than he did last time. We both did. He only cried for a few minutes and then he was done! I didn't cry at all. Yay! The doctor gave him a clean bill of health and said that he is growing and developing normally. He also said that B is now ready to start eating some cereal and pureed foods.

So this afternoon, we went to the store and got some jars of baby food with little bowls and spoons. We first had him try carrots and he wasn't too thrilled about it. Unfortunately for him, he gets to try it again for the next couple of days before we introduce him to another food. Maybe he'll learn to love it. Once I figure out what he likes (and isn't allergic to), I can start making my own baby food!
