Labor Day Fun

Yesterday, Cody and I went to visit my side of the family again. We had a little barbecue and
tried to keep my nephew, Emery, entertained. He's about to start playing soccer so we
helped him practice in the front yard. I even got my 82 year old grandpa to kick the
ball around! It was pretty entertaining to watch him kick and chase the ball... all while
keeping one hand in his pocket!
I thought I had a decently large amount of energy.. until I spent the
entire afternoon running around with Emery. That kid never stops! Oh, to
have the energy of a child again. That sure would be nice. On a short break between
Emery's imaginative games, we looked through some old childhood photos. Ryan, my
brother/Emery's dad, found a photo of himself when he was around Em's age. Can you
say, hipsterest-hipster-before-there-were-hipsters EVER?? Hah.

Family Fun Time

Cody and I rode the motorcycle to my parents house yesterday to celebrate a late
fathers day, my mom's 50th birthday, and my brother's 27th. Ryan (my brother) and I
both live over an hour away from our parents -which doesn't seem like much-
but life seems to get in the way too much. It's difficult to find a day where we're all
able to spend time together. That's all right though... It just makes hanging out
with the fam even better!

Time Flies

It's not often that I get to see my nephew, Emery, but I'm always
overly excited when I finally get the chance. He'll be seven in a couple
weeks... So weird!! It seems like just yesterday, I was babysitting him and changing
his little diapers. He HATED falling asleep and would cry incessantly as I tried
everything humanly possible to put him down for a nap. Now he's in school,
riding a bike, and doing all that fun big kid stuff. My, how time flies....
