The Creative Initiative (Link-Up) - Week 5

This weeks theme was Dreams.

I love this one because lately, (due to a side effect of some medicine that I'm on) I've been having either really intense, vivid dreams or completely random/weird dreams. I decided to use Pusheen, the cat, to demonstrate a random, recurring dream that I've been having! So, in these dreams I have a pet. Sometimes it's a cat... sometimes it's a piglet or turtle, etc. But during the dream the pet that I have keeps gradually getting smaller and smaller until it fits in my hand like a marble. Nothing really happens besides that. Haha. It's just really cute and random :)

The Creative Initiative: Week 3

This week's theme was - Get Outdoors!

I was sitting outside earlier, watching Harper play in the back yard. Without a care in the world, she ran around and chewed on her frisbee. She doesn't worry if she'll be fed later or if she'll have a warm place to sleep at night. She just knows she'll be taken care of. I watched birds fly above her as she played, and they too, seem to lack any ounce of fear or anxiety. They fly from trees to power lines, chirping and singing to each other. 

If you count your worth more than a simple little bird or clumsy dog, don't you think your Creator, who made you in His image, will count you as far more? We live in a fast paced, anxious world these days and tend to forget that all we really need to do is rely on God for peace.

Harajuku Fashion Inspired

I had an awesome mini makeup session with Olivia tonight. I chose a Harajuku 

fashion inpired look! So cute and soo much fun! Olivia is a great model. Anyone 

else interested in modeling some hair/makeup looks for me?

I just have to do one more post about my wedding because it's so 
darn sweet! I'm actually sharing a blog post by my very good friend and 
wedding photographer, Mary Meghan Mabus. The pictures, as you saw 
some before, turned out amazing so I just had to show more...

Our Wedding!

       As much as I wanted to post every single picture on here, there's just 

waaayyyyy too many so I settled on these. This really was my dream wedding. 

I couldn't have imagined anything better.. every detail was perfect and 

exactly what I wanted. We spent the entire week before setting everything up.

It was A LOT of work but totally worth it. And just like everyone said it would 

be, it went by so fast it was all a big blur. I didn't get to enjoy any of the 

amazing-looking food David made and I don't even know who all came to the wedding! 

       I chose to keep the tradition of not letting Cody see me until I walked down 

the aisle, so we had to take most of the wedding party/family photos during 

the reception. Nonetheless, we had a blast and enjoyed every second we 

could soak in. I'm beyond thankful for everyone involved in the wedding and 

behind the scenes. It never would have been so perfect without all of them.

       Our honeymoon to a resort in Mexico was a blast...and very interesting to 

say the least. I don't recommend any tourists trying to drive around in downtown 

Cancun. You might die. And sprinting the length of the Miami airport like you're 

in a movie does not guarantee you'll make it to your connecting flight. Sometimes

they decide they want to take off early and leave you behind.

       So far though, married life has been the best! We've been really busy this

week trying to settle into our new home. It's finally starting to come together 

though and I couldn't be happier!

Love me some Society6

Just doing some more internet window shopping. I found these prints on Society6 that 

I thought would look so good in our cute little house. They've also inspired me to 

finally start working on some pieces of my own again. I have some pretty

awesome ideas but of course they, too, will have to wait until after the wedding. 

Just 11 days to go! Wow... That's really weird. Amazing but weird.

Vintage Bridal Shower Brunch

Saturday we had my vintage bridal shower brunch and it was so beautiful! Missy did all the decorations flawlessly. Seriously, she really outdid herself! We had mango orange juice, red velvet cheesecake, blueberry scones, quiche, and tons more delicious treats. My sweet friends and family gave me the best gifts, so I guess now I'll finally have to take the time to learn how to cook! I really can't say this enough, but I have the best friends and family anyone could ask for. My heart is always full! 26 more days! 

Once the wedding is over, I'll also have more time to work on DIY art projects and beauty tutorials again for you girls or guys. For now, you just get to see what's going on in my life. This was the prettiest shower I've been to (of course, I'm a little biased). What's the cutest shower you've ever been to? I'd love to hear your stories.

Charmaine Olivia.

Charmaine Olivia lives in San Francisco as a full-time artist and model.

Using oil and ink as her main forms of media, she creates the most unique works of art from rainbow-haired mermaids to fierce ship captains.

Extremely right-brained

I grew up with a fascination or near obsession for all things ART.. From drawing, painting, music, and graphic design.. to makeup, hair, fashion, and photography. My creative juices are constantly flowing and I can't turn it off.  From grade school to beauty college, all of my text books and notebooks were covered in doodles and sketches. My house was littered with various art projects and crafts, and my personal style was ever-changing. For me there was always a certain sense of freedom in the expression of art.. an accomplished or calming feeling that often times relieved a lot of my stress. I tend to get easily overwhelmed with even minor situations around me in normal daily life (partly due to pretty severe ADD. Ha.) so escaping into an art project gives my brain some time to chill out.
