Here's to 2014!
2013 had it's share of ups and downs. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, cried a lot, and changed a lot... all for the better. Since Cody and I got married towards the end of 2012, we enjoyed our first year of marriage during 2013, and it was amazing! Cody got an awesome new job that he really loves, we bought our first house, and started a home church with some of our friends. None of those things were accomplished without a few hardships at first, but God can still do great things in not-so-great situations. I realize some of what I'm saying is quite vague, but I don't see any need to mention negative things of the past. I choose to focus only on the good things that happened last year and will happen this year!
My New Year's resolution is to move on and continue to learn, grow, and adapt.

On another note, I am so in love with this coat! I've pretty much been wearing it every day. It's sooo warm and goes with almost everything I have. I've been such a shopaholic the past couple weeks with all the holiday sales that have been going on!

The Creative Initiative: Week 3
This week's theme was - Get Outdoors!
I was sitting outside earlier, watching Harper play in the back yard. Without a care in the world, she ran around and chewed on her frisbee. She doesn't worry if she'll be fed later or if she'll have a warm place to sleep at night. She just knows she'll be taken care of. I watched birds fly above her as she played, and they too, seem to lack any ounce of fear or anxiety. They fly from trees to power lines, chirping and singing to each other.
If you count your worth more than a simple little bird or clumsy dog, don't you think your Creator, who made you in His image, will count you as far more? We live in a fast paced, anxious world these days and tend to forget that all we really need to do is rely on God for peace.

Our First Anniversary!
Today, I get to celebrate a year of wedded bliss with the man of my dreams. I know, super mushy post here... but what can I say? I couldn't be any happier or more in love :)
We were so blessed to have such a perfect wedding with some of the most amazing people we know!
If you have 15-20 minutes of free time.. watch how our wedding ceremony went down. It's full of incredibly talented musicians, beautiful people, and tons of love!! I hope you like it!

Time Flies
It's not often that I get to see my nephew, Emery, but I'm always
overly excited when I finally get the chance. He'll be seven in a couple
weeks... So weird!! It seems like just yesterday, I was babysitting him and changing
his little diapers. He HATED falling asleep and would cry incessantly as I tried
everything humanly possible to put him down for a nap. Now he's in school,
riding a bike, and doing all that fun big kid stuff. My, how time flies....

Valentine's Day
We had so much fun on our Valentine's date in Memphis yesterday! Going to the zoo is
probably one of my most favorite things to do... and that might be sad for someone
my age, but oh well. It's true. So after the zoo we went to a pretty decent Italian
restaurant called Amerigo. We're kind of terrible at deciding on new places
to eat, so after searching Urban Spoon and Around Me to no avail... I just Googled
"Places to eat in Memphis" and happened upon that place. If you ever
go, I highly recommend the spicy cheese fritters! Amazing!
All in all, it was a very sweet day and I thoroughly enjoyed spending it
with my permanent valentine.
