Our Panama City Beach Vacation

I'm finally getting a chance to post about our beach vaycay last week. We had a blast! Brooks loved it  a lot more than I thought he would. I kind of thought he'd be afraid of the water and the crashing waves, but he fully embraced all of it! So much so, that he fell asleep almost every time I waded into the water with him on my hip.

Don't worry, I did the motherly thing and made sure that I completely slathered his entire body in sunscreen every half hour or so. Despite the excessive amounts of SPF 70 on his skin, he somehow managed to get more of a tan than me. I mainly just burned really badly, then got a shade darker. Little B definitely takes after his dad in the skin department. So not fair.

Of course, we couldn't go on a trip without visiting a zoo. This one was kind of small but still a lot of fun. The best part was meeting the friendliest giraffe I've ever seen! We fed him lettuce and he let us pet him while he gave us kisses and tried to steal our hats. As you will see in the hilarious photos below, Brooks was COMPLETELY indifferent to the entire giraffe experience. Cody and I, however, had way too much fun with it!

Lastly, what would a beach trip be without a couple night time rounds of mini golf?? I like to think I'm pretty good at it so I was super competitive with Cody. He ended up just barely beating me on the first game...boooo. We totally tied on the second game though.

Wearing White After Labor Day

I bought this dress the other day and I love love love it! I was afraid it was going to be too small on me because I bought it without trying it on. I am so bad about not trying on clothes before I buy them. I just hate having to take the time and effort to change into the outfit, then back into my clothes. I usually just hold it up to myself and guess if it looks like it will fit. Call me lazy. I've actually gotten pretty good at that method... even during and after pregnancy when my body went through some crazy changes! Ha. Anyway, this dress fits like a glove and I'm obsessed with it.

I'll probably even try to find ways to wear it this fall when it gets cold. I don't care that it's white and after Labor Day! That "rule" is so unnecessary. Who really cares? I love breaking fashion faux pas - within reason, though. I'm not a monster!

Brooks Wilder: Seven Months

Baby Brooks has been growing by leaps and bounds this month! He has already sprouted two tiny teeth and he's slowly perfecting his wobbly crawl. Although he's doing so great during the day, his nightly sleep routine has regressed quite a bit lately. He's been waking up a lot more during the night. If anyone has any advice for getting B to sleep longer, I'm open to suggestions (except "cry it out" methods). These zombies need some sleep!

Wonder Lip Paint Review

I recently discovered a budget-friendly version of one of my favorite lip paints, OCC Lip Tar. It's called Wonder Lip Paint, by J. Cat Beauty. So, of course, you know I have to do a quick review on it!

"Mad Splatter"

Price - $5
Color - Rosey/pink
Finish - Iridescent and glossy.
Lasting Effect - Moderately lasting, 3-4 hours on me.
Likes - Goes on smoothly, highly pigmented.
Dislikes - It doesn't last as long as I would like.

Would I recommend this lip paint to a friend? Most definitely! It's a great product for a price you really can't beat. They have tons of other colors and I can't wait to try more!

OMG Ban.do Agenda

Ban.do Agenda

Since I'm a mom and all, I figured I should probably get my life a little more organized. My husband can tell you that I'm probably the most unorganized and scatter-brained person he knows. Soooo, in an attempt to help get my life together, I pre-ordered a Ban.do agenda back in May. The months in the planner didn't start until the end of July, though. So now that it's August, I'm super excited to fiiiinally be able to use it! Yay!

The nifty inspirational sayings and brightly colored illustrations are what make this agenda so great. It also has all kinds of space to jot down literally everything! There's only one tiny issue I found with this planner. The month tabs are just paper so they can be easily ripped. However, I easily fixed that little problem by adding clear strips of tape to the tabs. It makes them a little sturdier so I can flip through the sections with confidence.

An added bonus to this fabulous agenda is the cute sticker page they put in the front! I really think stickers just make everything way more fun. I loved them so much that I bought the extra sticker pack and sticky note set... because if I have to be all organized and on top of things, I'm going to make it as fun as possible.

Brooks Wilder: Six Months

cool baby

Currently //

Length Approximately 27 inches
Weight Unknown (He hasn't had his 6 month checkup yet)

Eats pureed fruits & veggies, yogurt, milk, and formula.
Loves rolling around, standing (with help), and playing "airplane".
Hates avocados, teething, and strangers getting up in his grill.
Learning to sit, crawl, and make new sounds.

Well, we have officially survived half a year with a tiny person! We've laughed a lot, cried a lot, and slept very little. Meltdowns were had and messes were made, but I wouldn't have it any other way! It's kind of sad to think about how fast the past six months have flown by, but it's been so awesome to watch Brooks grow and change. He has a lot more growing and changing to do, so here's to the next six months and beyond!
