A Day in the Life

In this case, it's a day in the life... on the weekend (yesterday)... since I pretty much just work during the week.
I start the day off by getting up looong before Cody. I used to be able to sleep in, but I just can't now for some reason. So, I hop in the shower and get ready for the day.

We were out of milk (for cereal) so I cooked up a heartier breakfast!

After breakfast, I take some time to make some lovely necklaces. Check out my Etsy shop HERE

That afternoon, Cody and I ran a few errands and did a little shopping. I bought some pretty fabrics and bright, yellow flowers.

When we got back, Cody polished his bike in hopes to sell it. By the way, if you or someone you know is interested, let me know! :)

Anyway... Later that night we went to an awesome party celebrating our friend, Josh's birthday and had the best time!

So that's kind of what a typical (weekend) day in my life looks like. It's filled with love, simple joys, and tons of fun!

2014 Reader Survey

For the past two years, I've been sharing bits and pieces of my life, my interests, and my ideas on this little blog. Besides the wonderful feedback I get from comments on my posts, I've often wondered how I could make AotH even better for my lovely readers. So, I got this idea from Sometimes Z Takes Pictures to create a little survey for you to fill out... whether this is your first visit or your hundredth! This will help me keep things interesting! You will be completely anonymous, so feel free to be totally honest.

Take the survey HERE!!

Windy Day Wear

Harper got to join me in this style post! She loves going on little adventures with me. It was a very windy day yesterday, but only a little bit chilly so I got to wear my lovely heart cardigan that I recently bought from ModCloth. I also wanted to display one of the little critter necklaces I have available in my Etsy shop! He's a sleepy little fox :)

What's In My Bag...

These three products are AMAZING! The lavender mint lotion is so perfect for my dry, wintery skin. It's also very calming and soothing! The Kevin.Murphy Texture.Master works wonders on my fine, limp hair. I just spritz a little bit into my dry roots and mid-lengths and my hair is transformed into massive, thick-textured hair! Because who doesn't want a voluptuous mane?!
Now for the peppermint essential oil... This stuff is pure magic! Whenever I have a headache, I dab a few drops on my forehead and temples and the cold, tingly sensation from the mint takes all the pain away! No need for medicine. I'm so in love with this oil.

Airplane Graveyard

Sweater - Urban Outfitters // Skirt - ModCloth // Tights,Socks & Boots - Forever 21

Like everyone else, I feel the need to mention how cold it is today. REAL cold! Only in the teens and dropping to the single digits tonight. Yikes! I know other parts of the country are experiencing negative temps right now, which is way worse, but I'm so not used to such coldness! I mean, it was in the 70's just a couple weeks ago. Ugh. We pretty much have weekly seasons here.

Cody and I visited the airplane graveyard in our town the other day. It's pretty cool to see how many huge planes they have flown in just to scrap for parts. The yellow one used to be covered in Pokemon characters... No idea why they decided to sand that off. And how awesome would it be to live in one?! I would totally turn one of them into a house!!

Also, I just wanted to show you how wooly my husband has gotten!! Must be nice having a built-in scarf...

Here's to 2014!

2013 had it's share of ups and downs. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, cried a lot, and changed a lot... all for the better. Since Cody and I got married towards the end of 2012, we enjoyed our first year of marriage during 2013, and it was amazing! Cody got an awesome new job that he really loves, we bought our first house, and started a home church with some of our friends. None of those things were accomplished without a few hardships at first, but God can still do great things in not-so-great situations. I realize some of what I'm saying is quite vague, but I don't see any need to mention negative things of the past. I choose to focus only on the good things that happened last year and will happen this year!

My New Year's resolution is to move on and continue to learn, grow, and adapt.

On another note, I am so in love with this coat! I've pretty much been wearing it every day. It's sooo warm and goes with almost everything I have. I've been such a shopaholic the past couple weeks with all the holiday sales that have been going on!
